Pancha Maha Bhuta temples are five temples dedicated to Shiva. Each place represents a manifestation of Lord Shiva as one of the five main elements of nature: earth, water, fire, air, and space. Pancha means five and Bhuta elements.
They are as follows:
Earth or Prithivi Lingam Ekambareswarar Temple, Kanchipuram, Tamilnadu.
Water or Appu Lingam or Jambu Lingam, Jambukeshwarar Temple, Thiruvanaikaval, near Trichy, Tamilnadu.
Fire or Agni Lingam Arunachaleswara Temple, Thiruvannamalai in Tamil Nadu.
Air or Vayu Lingam, Kalahasti temple, near Tirupati Andhra Pradesh.
Space or Aagaya Lingam/Akasha Lingam) Thillai Natarajar Temple, Chidambaram, Tamilnadu.
