TRANSIT RESULTS

According to traditional astrology, the movement of the planets through twelve

rasis of Zodiac from natal moon (Janma Rasi) or the JANMA LAGNA of the native is

called Gochara or transit. According to the position of a transit planet from natal moon

or lagna in the birth chart, the effects will change. We read that the Jupiter in the 2nd

from natal moon gives rewards, profit and gain of money. Saturn in the 2nd from the

natal moon gives sorrows and accidents. These are only general principles. These

principles will not be applied to our charts. The yogas (combinations) present in the

horoscope will become operative, during the transit of the slow moving planets Saturn

and Jupiter and other slow moving planets Rahu and Ketu.

Jupiter is dharma karaka, he represents the free will of the person. Therefore

Jupiter will give the personnel result according to the sign he transits and the aspect

he receives from natal planet. Jupiter will indicate the desire or the ambition of the

person according to the nature of the planet aspecting from birth chart. Saturn is

karma karaka, he represents the fate of the person. Therefore Saturn will give the

results which are the rewards of the karmas performed in the previous birth. It will be

a good result if the person has performed good karmas, it will be a bad result if the

person has performed a bad karma in his previous birth. The effect of the planets will

be felt only when the transit planets and the planets in the birth chart interact with

each other. If the transit planet is not associated or aspected by any natal planet then

there will not be any significant event in the person’s life. Actually the karakathwa,

result of the aspecting natal planet will be felt when the transit planets especially

Saturn and Jupiter receives such aspects. The age of the person must be kept in the

mind while giving the timing of the events. When natal Venus aspects transit Jupiter

the person will get married. This result is applicable only to the unmarried people. If

he is a married person, for the same aspect we have to predict that there will be a

birth of daughter. When natal Mercury is aspecting transit Jupiter, the person will do

well in studies. If we give this prediction to a 2 year old child or to very old person it

will not be applicable. Therefore, while giving prediction we must take the age of

person into consideration.

It must be kept in the mind that the transiting planet may get the aspect of

natal planets either from the same sign in which he is transiting or 2nd , 3rd , 5th , 7th , 9th

, 11th or 12th from transiting sign. For example, Saturn is transiting Mesha ,in natal

chart If Mars is Posited in Mesha itself in the natal chart or in the following places

i.e ,Vrishaba, which is 2nd from Mesha, Mithuna which 3rd from Mesha, Simha which

is 5th from Mesha, Tula which is 7th from Mesha, Dhanus which is 9th from Mesha,

Kumba which is 11th from Mesha, Meena which 12th from Mesha, the same result will

be felt during the transit i.e., the person will be troubled by enemies but the

percentage of the result will differ according to the aspect.

If aspect is from the same sign, then the result will be 100%. If the aspect is

from the 2nd sign, then the result is 75%, from the 3rd sign 50%, from 5th sign 75%, from

7th sign 50%, from 9th sign 75%, from 11th sign 50% and from 12th sign 25%.

In the above chart, in the year 1998, when Jupiter was transiting Meena rasi,

the native got married. If we observe closely, in the above birth chart, Venus is in

Cancer, which is 5th sign from Meena, therefore the transit Jupiter located in Meena

gets the aspect of natal Venus located in Cancer in the birth chart. when transit

Jupiter is aspected by natal Venus, marriage will take place.

In the above chart, in the year 1989, when Saturn was transiting Dhanus rasi,

the native got appointment in Govt. Dept. In the birth chart Guru and Chandra both

are in Simha rasi, which is 9th sign from Dhanus. Therefore the transit Sani located in

Dhanus gets the aspect of natal Jupiter and Moon located in Simha. when transit

Saturn is aspected by natal Jupiter, the person will get a job or promotion. When

transit Saturn is aspected by natal Moon, the person will have change of place.

Therefore, the native got appointment in a different place.

In the above chart, in the year 1995 when Saturn was transiting Kumba rasi,

the native faced lot of difficulties. Since natal Mars was aspecting transit Saturn from

Simha rasi which is 7th from Kumbha rasi, natal Ketu was also aspecting transit Saturn

from Meena rasi which is 2nd from Kumba rasi. However, natal Venus aspect over

HOW TO ANALYSE THE HOROSCOPE

To analyze the horoscope the following three methods are generally followed:

1. Based on Bhava Karakatwa (house significance)

2. Based on Bhava Karakatwas and Nakshatras

3. Based on Graha Karakatwas (planetary significance)

About the first and second method, many books have been already written by

different authors. Few authors only have written about the third method. In my own

experience, I found that the third method is very simple, easiest and accurate and this is

the method the NADI Astrologers are following while giving predictions. In this method of

prediction, Nakshatra, Lagna and Bhavas are not given any importance, planets and their

significance (Karakatwas) are only given more importance. Because in Hindu astrology,

we have assumed that the signs and stars does not move, where as the planets are

constantly moving in the Zodiac. It is only due to the movement of planets, the different

changes occur in human life. Actually the changes occurs when the planets interacts

with each other, otherwise there will not be any planetary effect on human being, Either a

planet should have conjunction with other planets or a planet should be aspected by

some other planets, Then only the aspected planet will yield specific results otherwise the

planet will not yield any result. This is the principle followed in NADI astrology. It is to be

kept in mind that we do not analyse the Horoscope by considering the Nakshatras and

Bhavas. We consider only the Karakatwas of the planets for prediction.

We know that if two planets are in same sign, it will be considered that they are in

conjunction. If a planets is placed in the seventh sign from the other it is considered that

they are aspecting each other. In addition to the above, the NADI system considers the

planets which are placed in the same direction are said to be in conjunction. The planets

which are placed in opposite direction will aspect each other. The planets which are

placed in the front sign and rear sign of a planet will strengthen or weaken the planet

based on the friendship or enmity between them.

Opposite direction 3, 7, 11 from considered signifactor

Front & rear signs 2, 12 from considered signifactor

Here, we must understand that the aspecting planets will give their Karakatwa result

to the aspected planet.

Ist Step:

First decide what subject you want to analyse and select the correct signifactor

(karaka) which is relevant to the subject under consideration

For example:

To know the character and appearance of the person

Consider Guru as Jeevakaraka for males

Sukra as a Jeevakaraka for Females

For profession, consider Sani

For education consider Budha

IInd step:

From considered signifactor see any planet is located in the following places.

1,5,9 (same direction) from the considered significator

3,7,11 (opp. direction) from the considered significator.

2,12 (front and rear) from considered significator

If any planet is located in the above places, then that planet will aspect the considered

significator. The aspecting planets will give their Karakatva result to the considered

significator. For example, let us consider Guru as Jeevakaraka. If Surya is aspecting

Guru, then the character of the native will be given as below:

Reliable, philanthropic, popular, social worker, simple in nature, open hearted, short

tempered,

if Budha is aspecting Guru, then, the character of the person will be given as below:

Intelligent, softspoken, witty and humorous, etc. If more than one planet is aspecting

Guru, then the native will have mixed character. In this manner, we can find out the

character and appearance of the other family members also, education, carrier,

disease and marriage of the native also can be analysed by considering the

appropriate significator (karaka). I request the reader to get well versed with the

nature of rasis and Karakatvas of planets before venturing in to prediction.

In the above chart, let us consider GURU as Jeevakaraka because the native is a

male and analyse the character and appearance of the person.

As Budha is aspecting Guru (from same sign) the native will be intelligent. As

Surya is aspecting Guru (from 12th sign) the native will be popular. As Chandra is

aspecting Guru (from 12th sign) the native will be settling in a different place.

As SUK is aspecting Guru (from 11th sign) the native will look handsome, he

will be fond of luxury.

As three female plants Chandra, Sukra, Budha are aspecting Guru, he will be

always surrounded by females. Many females will be after him. As the indicator of

Skin, Budha is aspected by Chandra he will have some skin disease, (Chandra in 12th

sign from Budha). As the indicator of forehead, Budha is aspected by Guru he will

have bald head. (Budha and Guru both are in the same sign). As the indicator of teeth,

Kuja is aspected by Rahu he will have uneven teeth settings (Rahu is in the 9th sign

from Kuja,same direction).

male and analyse the character and appearance of the person. This is the horoscope

I want you to understand how to check and calculate Ascendant (Lagna) and the latitudes of the 9 planets so that you know how it is done.

The calculations given in the Example here are from the published Ephemeris pages are from The Lahiri Ephemeris. They are the most reliable ones published in India and majority of the Vedic astrologers follow them. They are based on the London Nautical Almanac and are quite accurate. However the modern software using the NASA ephemeris are a lot more accurate.

Worked out Birth Chart example

A person is born in Calcutta, at 15hr18min30sec, IST on 12-6-1948.

Calculate the Lagna, the planetary positions and give birth chart along with, Birth Star, Tithi & Yoga

1^st calculate the Lagna or ascendant

The birth time given in Indian Standard Time must be 1^st converted in to Local Mean Time of Calcutta and then a correction to be applied to the Sidereal Time.

The Local Mean Time difference for Calcutta from Indian Standard Time is:

The birth time LMT is 15h 42m 00s. Hence it is 3h 42m 00 after the Sidereal noon time. So we have to add this difference in time of 3h 42m 00 and also a correction to the sidereal time for the increase in time. Table 4 gives the corrections to time. The correction given is 30 seconds for 3 hours and 40 seconds for 4 hours. Hence by calculating we get 36 seconds correction for 3hr 18min 30sec.

For Sidereal Time 9h 04m, from Ascendant Table Calcutta the Ascendant is                           6s 18° 58′ 51”

n)Now check the Ayanamsa Correction Table for 1948. The correction is                                        (-) 0 08

Hence the total is 6s 18° 50′ 51”

Please note: In most of the Ephemeris the planetary longitudes are given as follows:

Starting from Aries, the number of houses crossed is marked by “#s” and the degrees as “ ° ” minutes as “ ‘ ” seconds as “ ” ”. Hence:

If it is in 28° 30′ it will be given as 0s 28° 30′ – in Aries

If it is in 63° 10′ it will be given as 2s 03° 10′ – in Gemini

If it is in 224° 40′ it will be given as 7s 14° 40′ – in Scorpio

Hence the Ascendant in this case is Tula or Libra 6s 18° 50′ 51”. This is quite accurate as the computerized calculation gives the Lagna Libra 18° 50′ 55”. The other Planetary longitudes for Calcutta, at 15hr18min30sec, IST on 12-6-1948 at are as follows:

Janma Nakshatra or Birth Star calculation: The star constellation in which moon is placed at the time of birth is called Janma Nakshatra. It is calculated as follows:

Moon’s Longitude is 123:51

Makha starts at 120 degrees. Makha 1^st quarter is up to 123:20 as each quarter is of 3:20

Hence we can see that Moon has crossed the 1^st quarter of Makha and is in the 2^nd quarter.

Hence the persons Janma Nakshatra or Birth Star is Makha 2^nd Pada.

Tithi calculation:   

The Sun’s Longitude is                             58:10

the Moon’s Longitude is                          123:51

Deducting we have                                   65:41

Dividing by 12 we have 5 and balance 5:41. So 5 Tithis or Lunar phases are over and it is the 6^th Tithi called Sasthi.

As moon is ahead of Sun it is Shukla Paksha or Bright Half or Waxing Phase.

(Had it been behind Sun it would have been Krishna Paksha or Dark Half or Waning Phase).

So the person is born on Shukla Paksha Sasthi Tithi.

We know that nine planets own the twelve rasis, and we know the owner (or)
ruler of each rasi. Sometimes it so happens that the planet A will occupy the house
sign owned by planet B and the planet B will occupy the house (or) sign owned by
planet A during their motion. This phenomenon is called planetory exchange (or)
Parivarthana yoga in astrology.

In the above chart Surya is located Dhanus and Guru is located in Simha. The
owner of Dhanus rasi is Guru. The owner of Simha rasi is Surya. Therefore it is
evident that the planets Surya and Guru both are involved in planetary exchange.
The unexpected events, may be good (or) bad will take place in natives life, if
parivarthana yoga is present in natives horoscope (or) some sudden changes will take
place. Therefore while analyzing the horoscope, astrologer must give importance to
this parivarthana yoga. The meaning of this yoga must be carefully studied. Let us
analyse some horoscopes in which parivarthana yoga is present.

In the above chart, Surya is located in Sukras sign Tula and Sukra is located in
Surya’s sign Simha. Therefore it is evident that the planets Surya and Sukra both are
involved in planetary exchange. The native of this horoscope is a female. Jeeva
karaka Sukra is located in Simha along with Chandra and Rahu. Chandra is a karaka
for adultry and Rahu is the karaka for secret affairs. Therefore this lady will have
secret affairs with many people. Due to planetary exchange when Sukra comes Thula
rasi, there Sukra will join Kuja. Guru will aspect Sukra from Mesha (7th aspect). Ketu is
karaka for vairagya. Guru is a karaka for spiritual leader. Ketu is a karaka for moksha.
Therefore the native meets spiritual guru unexpectedly. He advises her to change her
way of life and guides her in the spiritual path. In the first part of the life the native will
be almost like a prostitute. In the second part of the life she will develop vairagya due
to the grace of spiritual guru and she will practice spiritual sadana.

If a planet is hemmed between two planets in the horoscope then the Karthari yoga is

said to be present in that horoscope. The Karthari yoga is present in the horoscope, if

2) Three planets are located in successive star padas in serial order

3) Three planets are located in the same sign but in successive degrees in serial

order

4) Three planets are located in the same direction, either in successive star pada

(or) in successive degree in serial order.

In chart ‘A’, the planets Guru, Surya and Budha are located in successive signs

Mesha, Vrishaba and Mithuna. Here, Surya is hemmed in between Guru and Budha.

In chart ‘B’, the planets Surya, Guru and Budha are located in successive star

padas Aswini 2nd pada, Bharani 1st pada and Krittika 1st pada. Here, Guru is

In chart ‘C’, the planets Surya, Guru and Budha are located in the same sign,

but in successive degrees. Surya is in 50 of Kataka, Guru is in 100 of Kataka and

Budha is in 150 degree of Kataka. Here, Guru is hemmed between Surya and Budha.

In chart ‘D’, the planets Surya, Guru and Kuja are located in different signs, but

in the same direction and in successive degrees. Mesha, Simha and Dhanus, all the

three signs are Eastern signs. Guru is in 200 of Mesha, Surya is in 1000 of Simha and

Kuja is in 1500 of Dhanus. Here, Surya is hemmed between Budha and Kuja.

Generally, all planets move from one Rasi to the other in clock-wise direction.
Rahu and Ketu move in anti clock-wise direction. Sometimes, we see that a planet,
instead of moving in clock-wise direction in the Zodiac seems to be moving in anti clockwise
direction. Whenever a planet is moving in anti clock-wise direction in the Zodiac, it
is said to be in Retrogression. Sun and Moon will never retrograde. Rahu and Ketu are
always in retrogression.
A retrograding planet will always aspect the rear sign with half aspect. A
retrograding planet will give beneficial results, if a friendly planet is placed in the 12th Sign
from retro planet. It will give bad results if an enemy planet is placed in the 12th Sign from
retro planet. So, let us analyze few example charts.
Example 1:

In the above chart, Guru is in retrogression in Kataka Rasi. Ketu is located in the
9th Sign (Same Direction) from Guru. Ketu is Mokshakaraka and he is aspecting Guru.
Therefore, the native will be a sanyasi. Sukra is located in the 12th Sign from the Guru,
and Sukra is aspected by Chandra (Chandra is in 9th Sign from Sukra). Sukra and
Chandra, both are beautiful ladies. Guru is running towards Sukra in retrogression.
Therefore, the native, a sanyasi is running after beautiful ladies.

Ex 2:

In the above chart, Guru is in retrogression in Kataka Rasi along with Chandra
and Sukra. Ketu is located in the 12th Sign from Guru. The planets Chandra and Sukra
both are females, Ketu is Mokshakaraka. Here, in the beginning the native will come
across many beautiful ladies. He will be troubled by these ladies. Finally, he will run
away from these ladies and takes Sanyasa, because Guru is running towards Ketu in
retrogression.
Ex 3:

In the above chart, Sani is in retrogression in Tula Rasi. In the 2nd sign from
Sani, Kuja is located. In the 12th Sign, Guru is located. Kuja is dead enemy of Sani. Guru
is a friendly planet for Sani. Sani is a Karma-karaka, the significator of profession. Here,
the native suffers from enemy harassment in professional career (Kuja is a karaka for
enemies). Sani in retrogression approaches Guru for help, therefore the native
overcomes the difficulties with the help of a friend.
Ex 4

In the above chart, Guru is in retrogression in Tula Rasi. In the 2nd Sign from Guru, Rahu
is located in Vrischika. In the 12th Sign from Guru, Surya is located in Kanya. Rahu is
the mouth of Kala purusha is trying to swallow the Jeeva karaka, Guru. Guru is afraid of
Rahu. Therefore, Guru is running towards Surya for his help. Surya is paramatma.

How to analyze married life of a person
(1) Consider Sukra as a significator of wife in case of males and consider Kuja as
husband in case of females.
(2) Find out the answer for the following from the Horoscope
(a) Whether the person will get married or not? If the answer is NO, we need not
analyze the horoscope further.
(b) If the answer is Yes then find out when the person will get married.
(c) Whether it is going to be an early marriage or late marriage. If it is late marriage,
find out what is the reason for delay and suggest remedies. If any obstacle in the
marriage suggest remedies to remove the obstacle.
(d) Find out the nature of wife or husband. How will be the life condition after
marriage.
(e) Whether marriage life is successful or failure.
 If Sukra aspects Guru or Sani then the male native will definitely get married.
 If Kuja aspects Sukra or Sani then the female will definitely get married.
 If Sukra aspects Guru, it will be an early marriage in case of males
 If Kuja aspects Sukra, it will be an early marriage in case of females.

 If Sukra, Ketu, and Kuja are located in the same sign or same direction then there
is a possibility of separation or divorce. If this combination is aspected by Guru then
there will be some compromise.
 If Budha , Ketu and Kuja are located in the same sign or same direction then there is
a possibility of separation.
 If Sukra, Rahu and Kuja are located in the same sign or same direction then there is
a possibility of separation. If the native is Female then she will ill- treat her husband.
 If Budha and Ketu are located in the same sign or in the same direction, whether the
native is male or female, they will fall In love with opposite sex. If this combination is
aspected by either by Sukra or Guru then it will end in love marriage. Further, if this
combination is aspected by Kuja, then there will be a failure in love affair or love
marriage. If this combination is aspected by Chandra then the native will get illfamed
in the society.
 If Sukra is aspected by Chandra, then the female native will get spoiled before

 If Budha aspects Guru or Sani, the person will have Girl friend other than his wife.
 If Sukra in case of males, Kuja in case of females is aspected by more than one slow
moving planets (i.e., Sani, Rahu & Ketu) then marriage is denied if this combination is
aspected by Guru then the marriage will take place after the performing of
PARIHARA.
 Whether it is a male or female horoscope, if Sukra, Chandra and Budha aspect each
other, then the person will be loose characterized. These people will sleep with any
person, if they get a chance.
 If Sani aspects Sukra in male horoscope, then the wife will be a working lady. If this
combination is present in female horoscope, she herself will be a working lady.
 If Rahu aspects Sukra, then there is a possibility that wife will be physically
handicapped.
 If Chandra aspects Sukra in female horoscope, then the female native will run away
with her lover.
Here “Aspect “ means the aspecting planets will be in 1,5,9 (same direction) or 3,7,11
(opposite direction) or 2& 12 (front & rear sign ) from the aspected planet.
How to analyze the Nature of Wife
Find out from Horoscope where Sukra is located. Look in the following places
from Sukra whether any planet is located.
I.e. 1, 5, 9 (same direction), 3, 7, 11 (opposite direction), 2 & 12 (front & rear
sign).
 If Surya is aspecting Sukra then, the wife will an able administrator, she will be
coming from the respectable or royal family, she is popular, philanthropic, kind
hearted, social worker etc.
 If Chandra is aspecting Sukra then the wife will be an unsteady minded, artistic, she
will be ill-famed in the society, blameworthy etc.
 If Kuja is aspecting Sukra, then the wife will be short tempered, stubborn, dominating,
selfish etc.
 If Budha is aspecting Sukra, then the wife will be intelligent, soft spoken, fun seeking
etc.
 If Guru is aspecting Sukra, then the wife will be religious minded, she will be having
all good qualities.
 If Sani is aspecting Sukra, then the wife will be lazy, she will have her own earnings.
 If Rahu is aspecting Sukra, then the wife will be lazy, secretive, liar etc.
 If Ketu is aspecting Sukra, then the wife will be religious minded.
 If more than one planet is aspecting Sukra, the wife will have the mixed qualities of
aspecting planets.

The Time of Marriage
(1) When the transit Guru or transit Sani is aspected by natal Sukra, the person
will get married.
(2) When the transit Guru is aspect by natal Kuja, the person will get married.

No Marriage case:

Ex 1:

This is the Horoscope of Swamy Vivekananda. Here Sukra is aspected by Sani and Ketu.
That is why the marriage was denied. Sani will always delay the marriage. Ketu is
aspecting Sani and hence he will not be interested in worldly life.

Denied marriage cases.

Ex 2:

In this Horoscope Sukra and Kuja are aspected by Rahu as well as Sani. That is why the
native is not married. Sukra is not aspecting Guru.

Ex 3:

This is a Female Horoscope. In this Horoscope Kuja and Sukra both are aspected by
Ketu. I.e. Kethu is placed in the 9th sign from Kuja and sukra. The Retro Sani is also
aspecting this combination. Hence she is not married.
Ex 4:

This is a Female Horoscope. In this Horoscope Kuja is aspected by Rahu. I.e. Rahu
Is placed in the 9th sign from Kuja. Sani is located behind Kuja. Hence there is no
marriage for her. This combination is aspected by Guru. If she would have performed
PARIHARA in her young age she would have got married.
Ex 4:

This is a Male Horoscope. Sukra is aspected by Sani as well as Rahu. Hence the
marriage is denied.

Ex 5:

This is a female horoscope. In this horoscope Kuja is aspected by Sani as well as Ketu
Hence marriage is denied.
